Stella & Eole Houses
Renovation · Extension · Outdoor spaces
These two 1950s houses form a substantial three-storey building. The original use — a tailoring workshop on the ground floor with living space above — was entirely reimagined to optimise every square metre.
The project, developed in collaboration with architect Yves Bellon, involved careful analysis of site constraints and Villeurbanne's local planning regulations, to design extensions that sit naturally within the dense urban fabric.
Maison Stella features a south-facing terrace and a sheltered planted courtyard. Maison Eole gains an extension that unifies the two existing building volumes, completing a progressive transformation of an urban dwelling shaped by layers of use over time.
