Maison Gaïa
Renovation · Extension · Pool
This house, built in the late 1990s, was renovated and enhanced with a pool and a timber extension.
The project integrates new outbuildings into the original composition, framed by woodland and a cliff backdrop. The existing building has a distinctive character, with its pitched and counter-pitched roof creating remarkable interior volumes.
The new architectural elements were designed to blend harmoniously with this established environment — the extension follows the same timber language, and the two principal building volumes frame the pool and terrace, sheltering them from view in the lush setting.
A detailed site analysis guided every decision: tree preservation, the creation of an outdoor kitchen and lounge under a pergola, and a timber perimeter screen that forms a natural continuum with the existing structure.
